A Love Letter
Hello—
Good news! You're reading a love letter. It's addressed to everyone, especially to those feeling spiritually isolated.
During the times of social distancing, prayer and meditation groups started meeting by way of Zoom. Being a technology cave-person and uninterested in Zooming, I was left out. But then came good news—
I was told there are folks in prayer and meditation every day at 12 noon. I never have discovered who those folks are, but decided to give the 12 Noon Prayer a test drive for a month, in the comfort of my home: a spiritual experiment. A spiritual adventure. And possibly—a spiritual experience.
I think I'm roped for life.
And so, come noon every day, I lean back unto "the Everlasting Arms." I relax into the peace, love, and wisdom of something that's "closer than breathing, nearer than hands and feet." An ever-present help in times of trouble.
Praying with Everyone
Who am I praying with? I don't know. I do know that when I pray and meditate with others, "the peace that passes understanding" is more easily experienced than with my solitary prayers.
Who do I meditate with? A nun, a monk, a grandma, a father, a child… someone, somewhere is in prayer and meditation. We sit in a room the size of the earth, chairs a bit further apart than usual. I nestle in the bosom of "the peace that passes understanding," and loneliness disappears.
Perhaps I pray with everyone.
The Brokenhearted
What shall we do with the brokenhearted? Quite a few broken hearts these days, have you noticed? Perhaps one of those broken hearts is mine. Perhaps one of those broken hearts is yours.
What shall we do with all these broken hearts? Go ahead and cry. Cry a good cry. Cry a long cry. It's good for the brokenhearted to cry.
And while you cry, though it be difficult, remember—comfort is present. The Spirit that wields the needle and thread that mends broken hearts is at hand—closer than breathing, nearer than hands and feet.
Come unto that Spirit again and again and again. Relax into that Spirit again and again and again. That Spirit will give you rest. Persistence gets you home, to Soul-Peace.
In the Spirit of Love and Peace there's a Wisdom that's wise in the ways of mending broken hearts, and so—we relax in the Spirit of Peace and Love and, fast or slow… mending happens.
Love one another — melt some miseries — Love.
The Short Version
This love letter has a shorter version. It goes like this:
Aloha - Prayer/Meditation Meeting. 12 noon. Every day. Everyone's welcome. Wherever you are. Whatever you're doing. Be in Love. 12 noon. What would happen in everyone fell in Love at the same time?
Aloha
P.S.- A small group of individuals sitting peacefully in a room at the same time in the Spirit of Love produces Peace and Love. A large group of individuals sitting peacefully around the world at the same time in the Spirit of Love produces…?
I'd love to hear from you.
